What Mississippi law says
What to do if you were purged
Purged means your name was removed from the county voter roll. "Purged (no voting activity)" means you were removed after not voting, not answering the confirmation card, and not updating your information through two federal general elections.
Three steps to get back on the roll
- 1
Check YallVote.ms first
Go to YallVote.ms. You may have registered again since this list was made, or your name may have been listed by mistake.
- 2
Register again
If you are not registered, register again at your county Circuit Clerk's office or by mail. You must register in the county where you live now.
- 3
Ask for an affidavit ballot
If you believe you are still registered and your name is not in the poll book on Election Day, you have the right to vote by affidavit ballot. The county will check your registration.
For the November 3 election
- The deadline to register for the November 3, 2026 election was October 5, 2026.
- Registering now still counts for later elections.
Bring a photo ID
- Bring a photo ID when you vote, such as a Mississippi driver's license, a state ID card, or a U.S. passport.
- A free Mississippi Voter ID card is available at any Circuit Clerk's office.
Help a neighbor
- Many people do not know they were removed. Check the list for family, friends, and neighbors.
- Share this page, and call the hotline with any questions.
